Selecting your event flooring
We answer a lot of questions every day. Two of the most common are, “Do I need a floor for the whole tent?” and “Is my dance floor too small?” These can be tricky to answer (but we’ve learned that if you’re worried your dance floor might be too small, it probably is.) Here are a few questions to help guide these important flooring decisions.
-
Will there be issues with the ground, where the tent will be, in the event that it rains before or during your event?
That full tent floor might seem like a nice extra, but it can serve an important purpose. Covering the entire tent with flooring can keep your guests comfortable instead of dealing with wet or muddy feet if the weather doesn’t cooperate. -
Was the dance floor at the last few events you attended too small for the crowd you expect at your wedding?
This is great info, let us know and we'll factor that feedback in when suggesting possible dance floor sizes. -
Are you excited for the dancing but know a pretty large portion of your crowd won't share your excitement?
Also, great info, we can recommend a size a bit smaller than we might normally suggest. -
Are you hiring a band?
Bands have specific spacing requirements based on their instruments and preferences. Whenever we guess what size or layout a band needs, it usually ends with a grumpy band. Check your contract, it should list the size and configuration they require or prefer. If you’re still choosing your band, we can suggest a reasonable starting size and fine-tune it once your entertainment is confirmed.
